Project Overview

The Greenhill Valdes STEM + Innovation Center in Addison, Texas, is a 52,000-square-foot mass timber facility designed to provide cutting-edge educational spaces for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Upchurch provided project management, preconstruction, and new construction services to bring this state-of-the-art STEM facility to life.

Our Approach

Upchurch’s technical expertise and meticulous planning ensured the successful execution of this high-tech educational facility, including:

  • Advanced Mechanical System Integration: Led BIM coordination and installed new air-cooled chillers, underfloor air towers, dedicated outside air units, thermal energy storage, boilers, and a fully integrated Building Management System (BMS) to optimize energy efficiency and climate control.
  • Comprehensive Plumbing Solutions: Executed BIM-coordinated, turnkey installation of essential plumbing systems, including acid waste, domestic cold and hot water, RO water, grease waste, storm, and subsoil systems, as well as laboratory air and vacuum systems to support hands-on STEM education.
  • Seamless Project Execution: Ensured that all mechanical and plumbing systems were installed with precision to support the specialized needs of the STEM + Innovation Center, while maintaining project timelines and quality standards.
