Project Overview

The O.D. Wyatt High School Addition & Renovation project in Fort Worth, Texas, centered around the construction of a new two-story Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility and an extensive renovation of the existing 175,000-square-foot high school campus. Upchurch provided project management, preconstruction, and new construction services to enhance learning environments with modernized classrooms, labs, and flexible collaboration spaces.

Our Approach

Leveraging our expertise in large-scale K-12 renovations and new construction, Upchurch ensured a seamless project execution, including:

  • State-of-the-Art CTE Addition: Constructed new classrooms for business/marketing, engineering/STEM, robotics, arts/AV, health sciences, pharmacy, and education training, along with collaboration and flex spaces.
  • Comprehensive Mechanical System Overhaul: Demolished the existing hydronic mechanical system and installed a cutting-edge Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system. At the time, this was the largest VRF retrofit in the country. The mechanical upgrades also included new Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) units and the replacement of multiple rooftop units (RTUs). A Building Management System (BMS) upgrade integrated all equipment into the Fort Worth ISD server for centralized control.
  • Full Plumbing Renovation: Executed a turnkey renovation of all bathrooms and updated sanitary and domestic water systems to accommodate the new floor plans and lab facilities.
  • Seamless Execution & Safety Commitment: Managed the renovation while ensuring minimal disruption to school operations, delivering the project efficiently and safely.
